| BioNet Utility Tower The Broadley-James BioNet Utility Tower stainless steel enclosure contains all the instrumentation, pumps, motors, valves, and meters necessary to provide monitoring and control of pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Temperature, Level, Gas Flow, and Agitation for related benchtop bioreactors. This monitoring and control is accomplished through the use of digital communications between the BioNet Controller and the BioNet Utility Tower. The design of the BioNet Utility Tower offers a number of features unique to a benchtop solution. |

FOUNDATION fieldbus pH, Dissolved Oxygen, and Temperature measurements are achieved through the use of FOUNDATION fieldbus instrument cards. Primary, secondary, and tertiary variables from these measurements are transmitted back to the BioNet Controller for analysis of measurement validity. Additional benefits include advanced sensor diagnostics to prevent in-process failures, unprecedented automated data collection, and greatly improved process control. Precise Mass Flowmeters Highly precise mass flowmeters, accurate to ±0.7% or better, replace traditional rotometers (±10%) for greatly improved control of gas mixing and flow rate. These flowmeters communicate their measurements to the Controller via DeviceNet, which allows for active monitoring, trending, and precise control. Advanced Stir Motor Advanced stir motor enabled with a digital encoder provides accuracy at very low rpms. This encoder also allows the Controller to count revolutions and provide alerts for impending maintenance. Rugged Peristaltic Pumps Rugged variable speed peristaltic pumps, with motor control feedback to the Controller, allow for accuracy of ±5% or better. The communication ability of the pump motors enables the Controller to monitor pump speed and count revolutions. Maintenance alerts can be tied to the number of revolutions counted by the Controller. Computer Touch Screen Embedded computer with a 15" industrial color touch screen integral to the Utility Tower allows the operator to perform calibrations, monitor variables, trend data, and change process conditions. The digital network feature of the BioNet System allows an end user to monitor the process variables of all the Bioreactors on the network from a single Utility Tower in the suite or from a remote location such as a control room, supervisory office, or from another facility thousands of miles away. |
