Model 30—DO Transmitter

This newest Dissolved Oxygen analyzer is available in a single sensor input version, in an enclosure that takes up half the space of most other transmitters. The single input Model 30 has two 0/4–20 mA outputs that can be programmed to correspond to the measurement and temperature. Zero and 100% saturation are simple to calibrate prior to installation of the sensor. In addition, it is easy to adjust the on-line display by a quick one-point “In Process” calibration of the % saturation. This is useful when the correct value is known through a separate off-line analysis.

The Model 30 features an easy-to-use, intuitive menu that makes advanced programming and calibration simple. On-screen full text and phrase prompting does away with cryptic mnemonic based instrument displays.

Model 30—DO Transmitter Specifications

Input: Accepts nA input from polarographic DO sensor. Uses industry standard 22K temperature compensator.

Output: Two isolated 0/4–20 mA outputs. Can be displayed in either mA or percent.

Calibration and Measurement: Will accept manual input of process pressure in mm Hg, inches Hg or bar. Measures partial pressure of oxygen and displays it as % saturation or ppm. Can set the zero point electronically or with inert gas.

Relays: Three programmable relays, activated according to setpoints. Each handles up to 5 amps.

Security: Option to set a passcode allowing “read only” or full access to all functions: Calibrate, Program and Display.

Configuration: Clear alphanumeric display with text prompts. User selectable automatic and manual temperature compensation. Easy to configure and program.

Physical Characteristics: Two-line, 16-character, back-lit LCD display. NEMA 4X (IP65) housing, weatherproof and corrosion resistant. CE approved.

Mounting Hardware: Available in either pipe or panel mount versions. Cable grips not included.

Power Supply Requirements: 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

Top Considerations:
• Clear, easy-to-read, back-lit display
• Full text prompts
• Easy programming
• Passcode protected menus

What is 4-20 mA

• Analog signal
• Current is proportional and scalable to sensor signal
• Carries one measured variable in one direction
• Historical standard for measurement & control

The standard analog communication protocol for over 20 years. The primary variable is transmitted via a 4-20 mA current loop from the field device to the control system. Only one variable can be transmitted per loop. No secondary data is available for the control system, and the field devices can only be calibrated and configured at the device itself in the fermentation or cell culture suite.
