The Model 382 and 383 housings fit directly into standard 19 mm ports found on many top mount benchtop fermentation vessels or side mount pilot vessels. Different housing lengths are available to accommodate the desired insertion depth of the probe. These housings are to be used with metric pH electrodes.
The housings are made from 316L stainless steel and are autoclavable and steam-sterilizable. A vessel with these housings installed can be placed in an autoclave chamber and pressure steamed to 135º C.

How to Select the Correct Housing
(1) Confirm the opening is a 19 mm top port.
(2) Determine whether the application will permit the use of a bulb guard on the housing. The bulb guard is highly recommended for all applications except when the media is very viscous. Highly viscous media is prone to clog the guard.
(3) Determine how far the housing and sensor should extend into the vessel by answering each of the following questions.
Will the sensor hit the bottom of the vessel?
Will the sensor tip be above the surface of the media?
Will the sensor hit anything in the vessel (i.e. agitation paddles or sparge ring) when the fermentor is assembled?
When the answer is no to all, the correct length has been selected.
(4) Confirm the sensor has Pg13.5 threads. |
